Its really hard, I mean what kind of content do you add to a directory? And where do you put it?.
I definitely dont want to add content that is not sticky I want to provide some kind of interest to my visitors besides adding their <a told that paying for this service is an option, hiring a freelance article writer,
or a you pay we post kind of site.
I would rather not pay for anything right now thank you, but the free content using links back to the original site or author of the content so you see it really may be that paying for my own original content is better in the long run.
<br I can be called such). I had no idea all the work, research trial and error that goes into creating and publishing a website, developing content and by gosh getting it indexed and ranked by the almighty Google.

I am not one to abide by anyone's rules but my own, I quickly found out differently that on the web its Google way or no way, ok ok I might be ranting a bit, but like I said, I have to march to a different drum that is not my own, so you usually do so grudgingly.

I have to say though I do enjoy working on my first official site and hoping to at least do another site well of course if my present site gets of the ground.

So you say what is this site about that she keeps going on about. Well my answer to that is its a directory, more specifically a link directory for the lay person its just a site consisting of links to other site listed by categories, for example: directories>>>>links to us directory.

Want to get your site seen or indexed require

My past 8wks as a webmaster.

In the past 8wks I have officially launched my first website, I was a complete novice with only the knowledge of a few html codes to guide me.I quickly learned that PHP can be a nightmare if you have no knowledge about it.

Optimizing your web pages for search engines

Choosing appropriate keywords title and description tags that were relevant to my website, after many descriptions and keywords by meta tag generators, I finally just picked the most suitable words/keywords to describe my site.this is important for meta crawl search engines.

Submitting your site

Submitting to free search engines and directories is the best way of getting your site crawled and indexed, there are literally thousands of search engines and directories. This maybe overwhelming to a newbie like my self but I soon learned from seasoned webmasters that manually submitting your site gives you a higher percentage of it being included, beware of promises to automatically submit your site to thousands of search engines, most directories and search engines see this as spammingand is a sure way to get your site banned.

Backlinks/Reciprocal Links

Sites that link to one another and have similar content are the ones that search engines use to determine your rank or your site worth. However the best links worth having are by far backlinks, which can be difficult to achieve unless you are paying for your site to be included(which can be quite expensive). Many still believe that reciprocal linking is the way to go, although Google ignores these links and see them as a form of spam, and artifical linking. Some ways of acquiring inbound links would be to write articles or blogs and making sure attributions are linked back to your site, using signature in forums, discussion groups and emails as means of promoting your site.

Content is king

My site has gone through many changes since its first launch 8wks now, looking, researching and trying different contentof how to draw traffic and keep, I've tried news feeds, free webmaster contents, articles but these all took my traffic away from my site.I have found a couple of content that can be useful to my customers such as manual search engine list, free online webtools, and now my little blog to help other novices like my self in the ever going battle to achieve top page rank.
